Cooking

We went over to my parents' today to get a few things, and my mom suggested we get some "new" toys from the attic. We're so lucky to have a treasure trove of toys that Amy and I used to play with up there!

So we ended up bringing down the cooking stuff, which Jake was totally thrilled about.

Then Jake asked me to come cook with him. He said "because you're a girl." Luckily, Daddy stepped in and said hey, both girls and boys can cook, and went on to remind Jake of all the things that he cooks on a regular basis (pizza, pasta, eggs, etc.). Nevermind that Jake himself is a boy, he knows he's a boy, but apparently he can cook just fine.
So we cooked the play food, as well as cookies, pancakes, and cake.

Playtime for Jake

I decided it was time to take some more pictures of Jake!

He loves playing with his cars. He's started to get into organizing them -- lining them up and having them take turns going for a drive.
Well in this case, the train.

We went to this wonderful theatre called Play after Play, where we watched a children's play put on by 3 actors called The Curing Fox and afterwards all the children had chances to do gentle tumble play with the 3 actors on gym mats. Jake loved it! He would eagarly await each turn to go around on the mat and play. It was hard to leave, but it was already past naptime and when we got home I was able to move him from the car to the couch without him opening his eyes.

Sleeping Fort

Today marked the start of Jake's fort-making years. I remember how much I loved to make forts when I was a kid, and made them quite frequently with my sister. Daddy built the fort for Jake and he was thrilled.


We call it the Sleeping Fort because Jake keeps insisting that he is going to go inside and sleep there.

Fun Jake!

Yesterday was Jake's first day of Movement and Me dance class which he went to with his nanny, Kayla, and Skylar. Kayla is also a nanny for Skylar and often watches both Jake and Skylar at the same time. Skylar was born just 2 weeks before Jake, so they are the same age and get along really well!

This is like a first day of school picture. :)
Playing -- anyone need their hair done?

Sticker fun. Toddlers are so silly.
When he was finished with the stickers, he actually stood by the garbage and peeled them off one by one and threw them in.
