Two Months!

I know they say you pop out faster on the second pregnancy, but this is a bit ridiculous. Nevertheless, unless I suck in my gut all day long, this is what I look like now, at two months! The power of a peanut-sized baby to push my organs up and out is astounding. And this was taken before my first big meal of the day.
Then I have this little cutie-pie to play with while we're waiting for his sibling... He thought it was great fun to have permission to draw on the wall!

Cheers!

One can has been very well-rinsed out, with water added. The other contains beer. The little one just thought that drinking out of the same type of container as Daddy was the best thing.

We scream for ice cream

This morning Jake woke up crying for ice cream. Literally. Which is hilarious because he has ice cream maybe once a month, on special occasions. But I guess ice cream is good enough to remember and to dream about?

And lucky for you, my mom pulled some pictures off her camera and sent them to me. They were taken a few weeks ago.

Olive you!
We were looking through the old toy closet for new toys for Jake to play with. Amy spotted our old Barbies and on a whim, we pulled them out to play with. It was great laughing at all the old '80's outfits!
Jake got really into the Barbie accessories. He had about 5 of these mini hairclips in, and wore them the entire afternoon. Gotta love toddlers.

Marching On...

Thought I'd give you all a little update, especially since I haven't been posting much -- I've not had the energy to either take pictures or post updates! Today I'm at 8 weeks, and on a roller-coaster of hormones. Occasionally I feel fine, but more often I feel tired, nauseous, hungry, or a combination of those. I think that means I'm pregnant! Am really looking forward to finishing the first trimester and getting back some of my energy, right when warmer days arrive and the yard/garden really starts to need some work and we can enjoy being outside.

Jake seems to have grown or be growing. I feel like I *just* went through his clothes and put aside the ones that were too small and now I need to do that again? Amazing. He's been working on numbers and the alphabet. He also enjoys tossing and catching a ball with his Daddy and me, and it will be fun to do that more as we can get outside. He loves anything related to Curious George, Thomas the Train, and Clifford the Big Red Dog. He's fascinated with the concept of it getting dark at night, and that the sun comes up in the morning. We have a book called Midnight Moon, and I've memorized it so now every night after we turn off the light, I recite the book to him, and he loves that.

I'll try to take more pictures soon...

Buddies

Could they be any cuter?!

Skylar's mom and I have registered both of them for the same preschool, hopefully they'll both get in and continue to have fun together.

Twelve

Today Mike and I celebrate 12 years of knowing each other. It has been wonderful. Some pictures, going backwards...

Dear Mike,
It has been a wonderful 12 years. We've done so many things together. And now we have a house, 2 cats, a beautiful son, and another child on the way. Looking forward to many more adventures with you.
Love, Lee

If only that really worked...

When I first told Jake that he would have a sister or brother, and that there is a baby in mama's belly, his first response was "I want to see!" I had to explain that he couldn't see the baby because s/he is in mama's belly and has to grow first. His response? To start digging around in my bellybutton in hopes of seeing the baby that way.

He's excited about the baby, and will occasionally kiss my belly. So sweet.

Because money appears out of thin air

The other day Jake woke up in the morning, and this was our first conversation:

Jake: beach! see crabs!

Me: you want to go to the beach and see the crabs on the rocks? (We saw those during our Mexico trip.)

Jake: yes!

Me: aww... I'd like to go to the beach, too. But we'd have to get on a plane and fly there.

Jake: want to get on plane!

Me: we'd have to buy plane tickets. Do you have the money for that?

Jake: nodding yes.
