Last night the 3 of us went to a party for a friend who turned 40. (Oh my gosh, do I really have friends who are 40!?) It was a large party in someone's home, and all the kids were invited. These are people that we see and have parties with 2-3 times a year.
What was fun about it is that Jake was totally comfortable playing with these kids and being on his own, so this was the FIRST party ever since he was born that Mike and I did not have to take turns keeping a continuous eye on him. We would check on him once in a while, but more often, Jake would check on us! It was so cute. He had a great time and happily played until we left the party close to 10:30pm. Then we put his pajamas on and he fell asleep in the car on the way home. So much fun for all of us.

I didn't like the transition from baby to toddler, because snuggly babies are my favorite age. But I LOVED the transition from toddler to "one of the kids," where you can go to parties and they just take off and hang with the kiddos! Fun times : )
